Makenzie Dunn - Vice President
I was born and raised in Anchorage. I first met Katie and Darlis in 2011 when my mom, who worked with Darlis, brought me into the office to keep Katie company. What was supposed to be a simple visit turned into an unforgettable first hangout. Meeting the Alaska Aces right after their Kelly Cup win definitely set the tone for something special. Katie and I quickly became close friends, and she remained one of my closest.
After Katie passed, I stayed closely connected with Darlis, who I call “Mama Bear.” When she founded Katie’s Handprint, I knew I wanted to be part of it in whatever way I could. What started as helping out here and there eventually turned into running social media in 2025, and now I’m incredibly honored to serve as Vice President.
Outside of Katie’s Handprint, life is pretty grounded and a little sweet. I spend most of my time with my husband (who is just as involved in volunteering as I am) and our dogs, baking what I firmly believe are the best chocolate chip cookies, reading whenever I get the chance, and planning our next Disney trip like it’s a competitive sport.
